That's Hobbes from Calvin and Hobbes, not Hobbes the author of Leviathan.
I ran across this quote today and I just....like it. It's sweet, sentimental, and sappy, and yet it's strikingly powerful in that way that Calvin and Hobbes so very often was. I really ought to go through all my old books, harvesting them for other little powerful sayings like this. That was seriously one the best, one of the deepest, one of the most emotional strips ever. Art in a comic strip, if there ever was such a thing. Part of me is very sad that Bill Watterson called it off for good, but I understand why he did it, and I really respect him for it, as I respect him for being stolid on not allowing Calvin and Hobbes merchandising. A man of principle in this world of commercialization is a hard thing to find, to be sure.
While I'm thinking about it, anyone reading this that hasn't ever seen the final strip should see it now...I'm sure I can find a link somewhere...google here I come!
Well this is a crappy version and pretty small, at least on my 1600x1200 resolution...but here it is for your enjoyment!
It's a Magical World...
Have fun!|||107695558962753484|||
