The nightmare caught me last night
     shaking sleep out of eyes,
     he first sees the dark confines of the room
     drool hangs down onto a much read Kafka
Why would you ask if I am lonely?
     now blind, sips Chaos with a spoon,
     watches the Universe teeter on end;
          now seeing - life!
     splayed out on the dissecting table
Am I yet dreaming?
     see here, his fears; and there his hopes
     the priest of death proclaims
     (undying lightening screams its despair)
     he resists-resists-resists-sublimates-falls-cries-
It is not right that I should be so understood!
     cries into slumber of plastered smiles
     while words, their cruel, bright weapons
     cut and wound and kill
Oh, for my heart to melt into simpleness...
