I've heard about what she talks about, but I haven't yet dared to go to such websites and I've been lucky enough not to have seen anything like that yet. But I'm afraid for myself when I do. As it is, when I walk into a Christian bookstore I get physically sick inside. I feel like I'm going to vomit, I get woozy and lightheaded, every part of my body feels weak. Sadly, I'm not exaggerating. If the relatively "normal" Christian consumerism so disgustingly plastered all around in a bookstore causes that kind of reaction, what would this most heinous of things do?
On occassion I've even been so angry (usually from outside a bookstore, where I'm not weak) that I want to go ballistic. And how will Passion merchandise affect me? Well, if you know me, don't wear that crap around me, that's all I'll say. I don't want to find out what will happen.
If you remember from before the Passion came out, I wrote and referenced several things on this blog that suggested that the movie Might, just might end up as a violation of the second commandment. I myself urged careful hesitancy about that particular issue. I don't know about the movie itself, but the wave of merchandising can be construed as nothing other than a shattering of the second commandment. a heinous sin against God. And yes, that makes me angry.|||107946356694161369|||
