Unfortunately I've just taken an exam in my Bible as Lit class where one of the essay questions (the one I spent the past hour+ writing about) was that very thing, so I don't feel like writing what I just wrote all over again. The quick and easy of it is this: I disagree with my professor that these passages imply some form of finite godism, that God is a limited being that can change his mind, mess up, etc. Instead, I think these passages teach an important model for interaction with God and reveal accordingly much about his nature. Namely, they teach that God is a responsive God, one who cares for his people and will listen and heed their requests.
I may write more on this later, like when next week when spring break hits and I have nothing to do because all my friends will be out of town and I won't have a car, but in case I don't, there it is.
Cheers, and everyone have a marvelous break.|||107904178839884236|||
